  • How much does it cost for a website?
The price of a website depends on the amount of website pages. Generally the cost is between £30 and £50 per website page depending on the complexity and type of the page, i.e. pages with text and pictures only are cheaper to produce than pages with special functions included, such as post code locators or booking forms. Connection of social media and search engine optimisation are included at no extra change for each page I design. • Can you redesign my old website and make it modern?
Yes. You can take a look at how your current website (if you have one) performs in the latest smart phones and tablets by clicking [HERE]. This will give you a good idea of how your website is represented on devices other than a regular desktop computer. It is important to modernise your website as loading speeds and the ability to display in mobile devices are factors which affect your website ranking in search engines such as Google.
  • How do I get the my website on the front page of Google or other search engines?
This is the most difficult part of website design, i.e. to design the website so that it is search engine friendly and is updated regularly, and most importantly that it has relevant content. You can pay Google to advertise your website but this is expensive and not always the best solution. I will optimise your website during the design and employ methods to help keep you in the top rankings of the search engines. All methods I employ are termed 'white hat', which means they are all above-board. I can also provide you with a monthly assessment of your website ranking in a variety of search engines and social networks.
  • Can I manage the content of the website myself?
Yes. I can arrange your website to have a content management system, which basically allows you to change your website page content (pictures and text) as you wish. However, this is not always necessary and in my experience is not used as much as the website owner may think! I also employ other methods which allow you to have updated content on your website from social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr - View Here for an example of loading pictures via Flickr. This means that content placed on any social website can be automatically updated on your website, which saves you a lot of time and effort.
  • Can you manage my website after you have designed it?
Yes. I do this for many clients. This usually involves making changes to the website as you desire and also running a news blog, i.e. adding new webpages and/or updating content on a regular basis. The charge for this service will depend on the type of website and the volume and frequency of updating required. I will discuss this option with you and provide you with a quote as required.
  • What about social networking - do you help with this?
Yes. I will devise a social media strategy for you when I design your website in order to give you the widest social networking presence possible.
  • Will I be able to sell my products via the website?
Yes. I can design the website to allow you to sell both digital (such as music or software) and non-digital products by the addition of a shopping cart.
  • How long will it take to get a website designed?
This depends on the size of the website. However, as a rule of thumb, a small 10 page website would likely take one week to complete.
  • Can you take care of everything for me as I am not very computer savvy?
Yes. I can get you a website domain name, design your website, place in onto the internet and look after it for you. I have done this for many of my clients.
